Supported Living Services (SLS)

What Are Supported Living Services (SLS)?

Supported Living Services (or SLS) help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who wish or choose to live in their own homes independently. Consumers who use SLS live apart from their guardians in apartments or houses they lease or own.

We offer our SLS program to consumers throughout California who use the regional center’s services.  SLS can give consumers the assistance they need to live successfully in their homes and be healthy and safe.

What is the Difference Between SLS and ILS?

SLS is focused on residential services and supported living arrangements for consumers. On the other hand, Independent Living Skills Training (ILS) teaches consumers essential skills and personal care for their daily lives. These two services go hand in hand and can be incredibly beneficial to an individual’s choice to live independently with our natural support and more freedom.
